Written by a 3rd-Degree Black Belt. For adults who train BJJ seriously — not competitively. No tournament prep, no sport-specific tactics. Just the fundamentals that actually transfer, regardless of where you train.
Coach Vince Choo — a 3rd-degree BJJ black belt with a wealth of knowledge and skill, and more than three decades of martial arts experience — has developed an excellent guide for students learning and training in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
This guidebook gives a structured theoretical framework and describes positions, drills, and games for BJJ from day zero, taking into account all belt levels, from white to black.
Coach Vince Choo considers the strategic, technical, tactical, and mental skills being developed, plus the transfer you get out of it.
This guidebook is well written and an excellent theoretical resource for every Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, whether a newbie or an experienced BJJ enthusiast. I can highly recommend it!
When your regular detergent taps out.
Your gi smells like it trained without you. Your rashguard has outlasted every detergent you’ve thrown at it. Your training partner has started keeping their distance. Regular detergent cleans the surface — Smelljitsu strips what builds up underneath: the oil residue and odour compounds that survive a normal wash cycle and compound over time.
Available directly from Coach Vince — WhatsApp or collect after class.
Get in Touch →I’ve got rashguards I’ve used and washed immediately after training for up to 7–8 years — the kind that seem fine after a wash but give off a funky odour the moment you start sweating in them again.
I soaked them in hot water with 2 tablespoons of Smelljitsu powder for an hour, rinsed, then washed with regular laundry detergent. That funky odour was gone. 10/10 — recommend it for all your synthetic training gear.
Recommended gear for new students — sourced from Shopee for convenience. You don't need all of this on day one.
